Thelma Dean Goforth Perdue, age 82, of 244 Cimarron Drive, Princeton, passed away on February 9, 2011 at her residence after a long battle with cancer. “The Battle is Over and The Victory Has Been Won.”
She was born on March 24, 1928 in the Midway Section of Bluefield. She attended school in Wythe County, VA. She loved to cook, sew, read and can her home grown vegetables. She also enjoyed painting. Several of her own paintings hang in her home. She lived at Perdue Hollow in Brushfork for several years. Then in the late 1950’s, she and her beloved Jack bought a farm where they still reside.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Clyde Joseph Goforth and Dorothy Marie Lephew Goforth; her brother, Clyde Joseph Goforth and a sister, Audrey Louise Goforth. After her parents death, she was raised by her grandparents, Gus and Roberta Tomlinson Lephew of Max Meadows, VA.

A Celebration of Her Life will be conducted on Saturday, February 12, 2011 at 11:00 AM at the Cravens-Shires Funeral Home Chapel in Bluewell with Rev. Larry Dyer officiating. Burial will follow at Roselawn Memorial gardens in Princeton where Jeff Perdue, Larry Tabor, Dave Wert, Jack Cordell, Ronnie Mooney and Kenny White will serve as pallbearers.
Friends may call on Friday from 6-8 PM at the funeral home.
