Sylvia May Anderson

Sylvia Mae Anderson, age 80, of Route 3, Bluefield, passed away on Friday, January 14, 2011 at a Tazewell, VA hospital. Born on May 5, 1930 in Gary, she was a daughter of the late John and Etta Bennington Mitchem. She had been a resident of Rt. 3, Bluefield for 43 years and was a member of Pilgrim’s Holiness Church in Bramwell. She was a loving wife of the late Jesse Anderson, Jr., mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She was a friend to lots of people and loved the Lord. She was preceded in death by her husband Jesse Anderson, Jr., two brothers and two sisters. Survivors include: Son: James Lewis Anderson and Joyce of Princeton 2 daughters: Patricia Noel and Dennis “Ricky” of North Tazewell Charlotte Thompson and Dennis of Bluefield 6 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren 1 sister: Violet Goins and Roger of Bramwell Funeral services will be conducted on Monday, January 17, 2011 at 1:00 PM at the Cravens-Shires Funeral Home Chapel in Bluewell with Rev. Jerry Conklin officiating. Burial will follow at Woodlawn memorial Park in Bluewell where James and Shawn Anderson, Dean and Dale Goins, Jeffery and Dennis Wayne Thompson will serve as pallbearers.
