Everett Lee Beggs

Everett Lee Beggs, age 76, of Princeton went home to be with the Lord on Monday, December 20, 2010 at Princeton Community Hospital. He was born on July 16, 1934 in Windmill Gap, WV to the late William James Beggs and Sebina Walker Beggs as the youngest son of eighteen children. He was employed as a coal miner at Ashland and Crumpler mines for twenty-six years. Everett was a loving husband and a kind father and a faithful member of the New Salem Methodist Church of Bluewell. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by seven sisters; Katherine Eanes, Vacy Stanley, Mary Beggs, Versie Riley, Eileen Hartsock, Dollie Beggs, and Virginia East; and eight brothers, Willie, Charlie, Ben, Eugene, Vernon, Francis, Garland, and Lewis Beggs. Among those who survive him include his wife of fifty seven years, Barbara Bailey Beggs; four children, Darlene Adkins of Princeton, Loretta Lusk and husband Johnny of Princeton, Janet Pettrey of Princeton, and Junior Beggs and wife Sheila of Bluefield; eight grandchildren, Hope Adkins Blevins and husband Jason of Princeton, Amanda Lusk Hatfield and husband Brian of North Carolina, Justin Adkins and wife Candace of Princeton, Adam Pettrey and wife Kayla of Princeton, Jonathan Lusk of Princeton, Brittany Beggs, Cody Beggs, and Megan Beggs of Bluefield; four great-grandchildren, Sydney Adkins, Matthew Blevins, Brayden Hatfield, and Lilly Adkins. Everett is also survived by two sisters, Lorene Grose, and Violet Spicer both of Rock, WV. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, December 23, 2010 at 11:00 am at the Craven-Shires Funeral Home Chapel in Bluewell with the Reverend Mike Smith officiating. Burial will follow at Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Princeton. Pallbearers will be Adam Pettrey, Jonathan Lusk, Justin Adkins, Cody Beggs, Jason Blevins, Matthew Blevins, Johnny Lusk, and Brian Hatfield. Friends may call on Wednesday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Craven-Shires Funeral Home in Bluewell.
