Geneva Fay Stuart

Geneva Fay Hicks Stuart, age 82, of 186 Pollard Avenue, Bluefield, passed away on Sunday, December 19, 2010 at a Bluefield hospital. Born on April 1, 1928 in Whitby, she was a daughter of the late Clarence W. Hicks and Maggie Rollins Hicks. She went to Little French Beauty Academy on Cumberland Road. After her graduation on January 20, 1972, she worked for Naida Honaker at Naida’s Beauty Shop in Bluewell for 17 years until her health made her retire. She attended the First Church of God on Brushfork-Falls Mills Road for 45 years and was an active member of the WCG Women of the Church of God. She was a faithful member and sang in the choir. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Charles J. Stuart who died August 11, 1969; 2 sons Charles R. Stuart, and Jimmie L. Stuart, Sr., 4 brothers, Ray Hicks, Alfred Hicks, Jack Hicks, and Donald Hicks; and 1 sister, Janet Hicks. Survivors include: 1 daughter: Emma Stuart of Bluefield 5 sons: John Stuart and Carol of Summersville, SC Lester Stuart of Bluefield Kenneth Stuart Bluefield William Stuart and Charlene of Wilmington, DE Barry Stuart of Bluefield 16 grandchildren: Melissa, John, Jr. and Beth, Sherry, Sharlie, Jordan, Paul, Misty, Tina, Brian Kimberly, Jimmy Lee, Olivia, Shannon, Jennifer, Melissa and AJ. Several great grandchildren 1 sister: Margaret Shultz of Princeton Funeral services will be conducted on Wednesday, December 21, 2010 at 1:00 PM at the Cravens-Shires Funeral Home Chapel in Bluewell with Pastors Jimmie Russ and Steve McMurry officiating. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Memorial park in Bluewell where family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
