Leonard Dailey McVey, age 72, of Route 3 Box 351 (Duhring), Bluefield, WV, passed away on Tuesday, June 1, 2010 at his residence.
Born on August 23, 1937 in Ennis, he was a son of the late Thomas Ray and Sylvia E. DeBusk McVey. He had been a resident of Duhring for 47 years and was a member of the Church of Christ. He was a veteran of the US Army from 1955-1958 and then in the Reserves. He was a retired master mechanic and worked for 20 years at Kersey Mfg. Co. until he was disabled in 1985.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by an infant brother and two infant sisters.

Wife of 47 years, Beverly Mitchell McVey of the home
Son: John Keith McVey and April of Cross Lanes, WV
Daughters: Amy J. McVey and Amanda R. McVey of the home
Brothers: Kenneth R. McVey and Janet of Bluefield
Roger Darrell McVey and Louise of Bluefield
Grandchildren: Christopher McVey, Nathan McVey and Caitlin Taylor
Several nieces and nephews
Funeral services will be conducted on Friday, June 4, 2010 at 2:00 PM at the Cravens-Shires Funeral Home Chapel in Bluewell with Minster Gregg Breisch officiating. Burial will follow at the Mitchell Family Cemetery in Duhring with family and friends serving as pallbearers. Military honors will be conducted by the WV Honor Guard.
