Reverend Earl Thomas Buckner, 92, of Route 4 Box 358-A, Bluefield, WV, beloved husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather went to be with his Lord and Savior on Thursday May 27, 2010 after a short illness. Mr. Buckner, a lifelong resident of Bluefield, WV, was a distributor for the WT Rawleigh Company for many years and was also a newspaper carrier for the Bluefield Daily Telegraph before retiring. He was a member of the Crane Creek Pentecostal Church and attended Marybranch Church of God when his health allowed. He was a member of the Pentecostal Holiness Church Conference. He was preceded in death by his parents Allie T. and Elizabeth Booth Buckner as well as seven brothers and four sisters. Mr. Buckner was the last surviving sibling. Left to cherish his memory is his wife of 70 years, Virginia, sons: Gene and Dennis; daughters: Sue, husband Dempsey, Betty, husband Carlos, Ruth, companion John, Janet, Diane and husband Randy. Grandchildren: Sherry, Tracy, Jason, Wendy, Bryan, and Blake. Great grandchildren: Corey, Deion, Dakoda, Destinee, Jailyn, Josie, Mallory, Addison and John. Honorary Pallbearers include: Ollie Cecil, Larmar Rogers, Roger Lacy, Mickey Kennett and Glen Peery and Randall Farmer. A service to celebrate his life will be held on Monday, May 31st at 11:00 a.m. at the Cravens-Shires Funeral Home Chapel in Bluewell with the Reverend Greg Hatfield officiating. Interment will follow at Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Princeton. Visitation will be at the Cravens-Shires Funeral Home on Sunday evening, May 30th from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Cravens-Shires Funeral in Bluewell is serving the Buckner family.
