Charles Ernest “Chuck” McGhee, Jr., age 33, of Route 1 Box 396-A, Bluefield, WV, passed away on Wednesday, May 26, 2010 in Georgia. Born on May 21, 1976, he was a son of Barbara Stacy McGhee and the late Charles E. McGhee. He had been a lifetime resident of Bluefield and was a graduate of Bluefield High School and Bluefield State College. He loved his children and working on cars. He would always help others and put others first. He was employed with the Federal Bureau of Prisons in McDowell County where he died while training. He was in the WV Air National Guard # 130th Air Lift Wing, Charleston, WV and had been in the Army National Guard out of Charleston also. He was to be deployed to Afghanistan in June. Chuck was a member of the Church of God. His passion was his children and the Military Service. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him. In addition to his father he was preceded in death by his Grandparents, Jack and Minnie Pauley Stacey; Special cousin Roger Dinger; Grandmother, Maw Maw Howard; and aunt Debbie Howard. Survivors include: Mother: Barbara Stacy McGhee of Bluefield Stepfather: Billy Joe Howard of Bluefield Son: Charles E. McGhee, III of Princeton and Chayton E. McGhee of Newhall Daughter: Chloe B. McGhee of Newhall Stepbrother: Martin Howard of NC and Mike Howard of Tazewell, VA Stepsister: Diane Thompson of NC Uncle: Howard Stacy of Bluewell Aunts: Freda Coeburn Shrader of Bluewell and Jeanette Dinger of Rt. 1, Bluefield Funeral services will be conducted on Sunday, May 30, 2010 at 3:00 PM at the Cravens-Shires Funeral Home in Bluewell with Chaplain Jack Miller officiating. Burial will follow at Grandview Memory Gardens. Wright Patterson AFB and WV Air National Guard in Charleston will conduct military honors. James Godfrey, Robbie Palmer, David Coeburn, Ryland Stacy, Martin Howard, Mike Howard, JJ Shelley, Benny Coeburn, Keith Coeburn, cousins and friends, and employees and staff at the Federal Prison in McDowell County will serve as honorary pallbearers.
