Curtis Clyde Stamper, age 71, of Bluefield, passed away on Tuesday, February 16, 2010 at Glade Hill, VA.
Born on November 27, 1938 in Bluefield, he was a son of the late Walter H. and Charlotte V. Short Stamper. He had been a resident of Bluefield for most of his life and was a retired belt splicer for the mining industry. He had formerly worked for the Griffin Pie Company, Reid Belt, Jimmy Hamm Belt Splice, and Holiday Inn of Raleigh, NC. He enjoyed going to flea markets and auctions. He was a member of the moose Lodge.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Curtis Stamper, Jr., and a brother, Roger Stamper.

Graveside services will be conducted on Friday, February 19, 2010 at 11:00 AM at the Maple Hill Cemetery in Bluefield, VA with David Bailey officiating. Burial will follow with family and friends serving as pallbearers. Those attending should meet at Cravens-Shires Funeral Home in Bluewell by 10:30AM.
Friends may call on Thursday from 6-8 PM at the Cravens-Shires Funeral Home in Bluewell.
