Irene E. Johnson

Irene E. Johnson, age 73, of PO Box 184, Maybeury, WV, passed away on Sunday, February 21, 2010 at a Bluefield hospital. Born on March 1, 1936 in Leslie, KY, she was a daughter of the late A.M. and Rachel Brock Simpson. She had been a resident of Maybeury for 17 years and was a member of the Bramwell Church of Christ. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sisters, Nina and Mildred; and a brother, Homer. Survivors include: Husband of 54 years: Robert L. Johnson of the home 2 sons: Robert L. Johnson of Maybeury Homer L. Qualls and wife Donna of Maiden, NC 1 daughter: Deborah Greve and husband Bob of Erie, PA 4 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren 1 brother: Robert Simpson of Tazewell, VA 4 sisters: Carol Murphy of Princeton Thelma Brook of Harlan, KY Naomi Rife of Oakwood, VA Faye Charles of Hurley, VA Funeral services will be conducted on Thursday, February 25, 2010 at 1:00 PM at the Cravens-Shires Funeral Home Chapel in Bluewell with Minister Paul Delida officiating. Burial will follow at Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Princeton with family and friends serving as pallbearers. Friends may call on Wednesday evening from 6-9 PM at the funeral home. Cravens-Shires Funeral Home in Bluewell is serving the Johnson family.
