Roy Lee Boyd

Roy Lee Boyd, age 38, of 311 Rogers Street, Bluefield, WV, was taken home to be with his Lord and Savior on Sunday, February 21, 2010 from injuries sustained from a motor vehicle accident. Born on March 29, 1971 in Bluefield, he was a son of Mike and Janice Sawyers Boyd of Falls Mills, VA. He had been a lifelong resident of the Bluefield area and attended the Salvation Army Church in Bluefield. He was employed by the Town of Bluefield, VA. He was preceded in death by his maternal and paternal grandparents Survivors include: Son: Christopher Lee of Bluefield Mother and father: Mike and Janice Sawyers Boyd of Falls Mills, VA Brother and wife: Michael and Penny Boyd of Glenwood Sister and Husband: Tammy and Kenneth Buchanan of Abbs Valley, VA Sister and husband: Heather and James Pruitt of Tazewell, VA Fiance: Donna Kitts of Bluefield Nephew: Jacob Pruitt Nieces: Catherine Sefat, Lindsey Pruitt, and Jenna Boyd A host of friends and loved ones Funeral services will be conducted on Wednesday, February 24, 2010 at 2:00 PM at Cravens-Shires Funeral Home in Bluewell with Captain Jerry Lester officiating. Burial will follow at Grandview Memory Gardens in Bluefield, VA with Ralph West, Jackie Whitehead, Brian Rose, William Graham, Paul Graham, Glen Stevenson, and Johnny Workman serving as pallbearers. Pete Sleeman will serve as honorary pallbearer. Friends may call on Tuesday from 6-8 PM at Cravens-Shires funeral Home in Bluewell.
