A . Kathleen Beckner, 78, of Rt. 2 Box 247 Rock, West Virginia was called away on Wednesday, June 09, 2010 at her daughter’s home in Washington, D.C. after a brief battle with cancer.
Kathleen was born Alma Kathleen Pigg in Montcalm, West Virginia on December 08, 1931 to the late Ronnie Clifford Pigg and Loma Webb Pigg. She was a member of the Mount Grove Baptist Community Church
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years Vesper Beckner, younger sister, Etta Hawks and grandson Bryan Matthew Beckner.
She is survived by her two sons Barry Beckner and wife Debra of Rock, WV and Ronnie Beckner of Rock, WV. Four daughters Alma Jones and husband Pete of Virginia Beach, VA., Patricia Beckner Barron and Tom of Washington, D.C., Priscilla Smith and husband Chris of Bristol, VA and Paula Christian and Husband Mike of Rock, WV. One sister Mildred (Juanita) Jackson of Suffolk, VA. and her brothers Ronnie ”RC” Clifford Pigg and Harold “Sonny” Pigg both of Browning Lambert Mountain.
She will be missed immensely by all that loved and respected her.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, June 14, 2010 at 1:00 p.m. at the Cravens-Shires Funeral Home in Bluewell, West Virginia with the Minister Eddie Mabe officiating the service. Burial will follow at the Roselawn Memorial Park in Princeton, West Virginia
Friends and family may call at the Cravens-Shires Funeral Home in Bluewell, West Virginia on Sunday, June 13, 2010 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.
Serving as pallbearers will be friends and family.
