Raymond Wesley Shaw

Raymond Wesley Shaw, age 82, of 510 Gayle Street, Princeton, WV, passed away on Wednesday, June 16, 2010 at the Loving Hands Adult Care in Green Valley. Born on January 17, 1928 in Switchback, he was a son of the late Roscoe Robe and Mary Louise Mitchell Shaw. He had been a lifelong resident of McDowell and Mercer counties and attended the Fairview Christian Community Church. He was a retired coal miner with US Steel and was a member of the UMWA. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Jesse Raymond Shaw; 3 brothers and 6 sisters. Those left to cherish his memories are: Loving Wife of 65 years: Mary Williams Shaw of the home 1 son: Mike Shaw and wife Betsey of Bluefield Niece who was loved like a daughter: Delora Bowling of Princeton 5 grandchildren: Mike Shaw, Jr. and wife Ashley of Princeton Matthew Shaw of Princeton Andrew, Allison and Ashton Shaw of Bluefield 2 great grandchildren: Bryson and Brystol Shaw of Princeton 1 brother: George Shaw and wife Betty of Princeton Several nieces and nephews Funeral services will be conducted on Saturday, June 19, 2010 at 2:30 PM at the Cravens-Shires Funeral Home in Bluewell with Rev. Larry Dyer officiating. Burial will follow at Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Princeton. Friends may call on Friday from 6-8 PM at the funeral home.
