Hazel L. Lacy

Hazel L. Lacy, age 90, of Bluewell, WV, passed away on Wednesday, June 16, 2010 at a Tazewell, VA hospital. Born on December 31, 1919 in Crystal, she was a daughter of the late Henry G. and Esther Hawks Hicks. She had been a resident of Bluewell for over 30 years and was a member of the Coaldale Freewill Baptist Church. She was a devoted wife, mother grandmother, great grandmother and great-great grandmother. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Rev. Roy Lacy. She was the last surviving member of her family. Survivors include: Children: E. Roger Lacy, Sr. and wife Delores of Bluewell Shirley Dyson and husband Ralph of Bluewell Hazel loved, appreciated and enjoyed her: 6 grandchildren: Dianna Lacy Harvey and husband Richard of Bluewell Tim Lacy and wife Kay of Bluewell Roger lacy, Jr. and wife Lisa of Bluewell Eileen Dyson Cline and husband Hank of Vinton, VA Ralph Dyson, Jr. and fiancé Miriam Cash of Vinton, VA Roy Shane Dyson and wife Velvet of Bluewell 12 great grandchildren and 11 great-great grandchildren Special caregivers and friends: David Lacy, Kay Lacy, Dianna Lacy Harvey, Betty Spaulding, Agnes Hill, Sis Kirby and many others Funeral services will be conducted on Saturday, June 19, 2010 at 12:30 PM at the Cravens-Shires Funeral Home Chapel in Bluewell with Rev. Tim Lacy officiating. Burial will follow at Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Princeton with grandsons serving as pallbearers. Friends may call on Friday from 6-8 PM at the funeral home.
