BLUEFIELD, WV--- Chester R. Foy, age 86, of RT 3 Box 375, (Duhring) Bluefield, WV passed away Sunday, May 2, 2010 at the Westwood Center, Bluefield, VA.
Born April 10, 1924 in Goodwill, WV he was the son of the late Samuel W. and Lucinda Taylor Foy. He was a resident of Duhring for 54 years. He was a member of the Montcalm United Methodist Church, a 50 year member of Bailey Masonic Lodge # 137, Montcalm, WV, and was retired from N&W Railway. Mr. Foy was a Veteran of World War II, 8th Armored Division, and US Army. He Participated in the Battle of the Bulge under Gen. George Patton, and was a member of the VFW.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife of 62 years June Hurst Foy on March 19, 2010; three brothers, Earl, Carl, and SW Foy; three sisters, Beulah Hubbard, Kathleen Nichols, and infant Mary Elizabeth.

Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, May 4, 2010 at Cravens-Shires Funeral Home Chapel in Bluewell, WV with Pastor David Ratcliff officiating. Burial will follow in Woodlawn Memorial Park Cemetery, Bluewell, WV with military honors being performed by the WV Honor Guard and the Mercer County Veterans Council. Tom Shrewsbury, Kip Thompson, Paul Whittecker, Carl Hubbard, Phil Hurst, Randy Farris, and Harold Montgomery will serve as Pallbearers. Buddy Warden, Monk Gaither, William Poff, James Blevins and all members of Bailey Masonic Lodge #137 will serve as Honorary Pallbearers.
Friends may call Monday, May 3, 2010 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
