Eva Diana Stanger

BLUEFIELD,WV---Eva Diana Stanger of RT 3 Box 670 Bluefield, WV passed away Thursday, October 14, 2010 at her residence. Mrs. Stanger was the daughter of the late Albert and Maddalena Sylvester. She was retired from Kroger Company after 35 plus years of service and a devoted member of St. Elizabeth Catholic Church in Pocahontas. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Stanger; one daughter, Glynis Stafford; one grandson, Tommy Stanger; three brothers, Joseph “Pat”, John, and Fred Sylvester; one sister, Rita Delorso. Survivors left to cherish and remember her kindness and caring heart forever are Two sons, Albert Stanger of Bluefield, WV Joe Stanger of Princeton, WV Six grandsons, three granddaughters, and eight great-grandchildren Several nieces and nephews Her two prize possessions which are her dogs, “Pudding” and “ Jack the Ripper” which she cared for like her children. Special friends, Pat Blevins, Dr. Nancy Lohuis and staff, Dr. Rowena Chambers and staff, and Hospice Compassus She will also be missed by her many friends from Kroger Funeral services will be held 10:00 a.m. Saturday, October 16, 2010 at Cravens-Shires Funeral Home Chapel in Bluewell, WV with Rev. Don Hammond officiating . Burial will follow in Woodlawn Memorial Park Cemetery in Bluewell, WV. Friends may call Friday October 15, 2010 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. A Christian Wake Service will be held at 7:00 p.m. during the visiting hours. Matt Stawarz, Albert Stanger, Robert Stanger, Joseph C. Stanger, Joe Stager and Michael Sharpe will serve as Pallbearers. Mickey Sylvester, Glenn Ratliff, John Belcher Jr., and John Sylvester Jr. will serve as Honorary Pallbearers.
