Marcus Eric Gonzalez

Marcus Eric Gonzalez, known to his friends as “Speedy” or “Gonzo”, 38, of Max Meadows, VA formerly of Roderfield, WV passed away on Saturday, August 14, 2010 at Welch, WV from injuries sustained in a auto accident. Marcus was born on September 7, 1971 in Welch, WV to Frank and Dorothy Davis Gonzalez. He had been a resident of Max Meadows, VA for the past 11 years and was of the Methodist faith. Marcus served his country in the US Army and was a member of the US National Guard in Welch, WV. He enjoyed many actives including hunting, fishing, golf and ATV riding. He was a former ATV racer in the Grand National Cross Country Series. Marcus also enjoyed being an assistant football coach with little league football. He was employed by UPS as a delivery driver. Marcus was preceded in death by his Maternal Grandmother Dorothy Davis and Paternal Grandparents Frank Gonzalez and Anna White Left to cherish his memory His wife: Jeanie Shirley Gonzalez of the Home One son: Zachary Marc Gonzalez of the Home Mother: Dorothy Davis Gonzalez of Roderfield, WV Father: Frank Gonzalez Jr. of Roderfield, WV One Sister: Maria Whited and husband Nick of Bluefield, VA And several aunts and uncles Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, August 18, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. at the Cravens-Shires Funeral Home in Bluewell, WV with the Rev’s Roger Walker and Lonnie Mullins officiating the service. Burial will follow the service at Woodlawn Memorial Park in Bluewell, WV where the VFW Post 1144 of Iaeger, WV and American Legion Post 175 of Bradshaw, WV will conduct Military Graveside Rites. Serving as pallbearers will be Brian Bailey, Charles Bailey, Brian Shirley, John Skinner, John Edmonds, Mike Adams, Clarence Richardson, Matt Henderson, Shannon Fairbanks, Leroy Blankenship, David Coleman, David Talbert and Josh Cox.
