Velcie Walsh

Mr. Velcie Walsh, age 93, of Edisto Island, SC and formerly of Bluefield, passed away on Friday, December 18, 2009 at the Veterans Victory Home of natural causes. He was born on October 26, 1916 in Bluefield. After serving as a marine in World War II, he moved to the Washington, DC area where he worked until he retired from DC Transit Authority after more than 30 years of service. Following his retirements he settled in South Caroline. He was preceded in death by his wife Elizabeth Ellen Walsh and their son, Cecil Walsh. Survivors include: Daughters: Judy Field of Edisto Island, SC Sandra McCanell of Arlington, VA Carol Jennings of Elizabeth City, TN 10 grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren He will be missed by his family and friends. Funeral services will be conducted on Monday, December 28, 2009 at 11:00 AM at the Cravens-Shires Funeral Home Chapel in Bluewell. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Park in Bluewell.
