Jackie C. Harris

Jackie C. Harris, 71, of Maybeury, WV (Peel Chestnut Mountain) passed away on Wednesday, September, 22, 2010 at his residence. Mr. Harris was born on August 15, 1939 in Bluefield, WV to the late Sidney G. Harris and Myrtle Smith Harris. He had been a resident of Maybeury for the past 50 years. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by three brothers Roger Harris, Kenneth Harris and Sidney A. Harris; a 2 year old sister, Wanda L. Harris; and a nephew David Harris. Survivors Include: One son: Michael Harris and wife Lori Knuckles of Raven, VA One sister: Mavis Cline of Bridgeton, NJ One former daughter-in-law: Jennifer Harris of Maybeury, WV One granddaughter: Samantha Nicole Harris of Bluewell, WV Nephew: Charlie Harris of Maybeury, WV Aunt: Bessie Glass He also leaves behind numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. Funeral service will be held on Sunday, September 26, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. at the Cravens-Shires Funeral Home in Bluewell, WV with the Rev. James Milam officiating the service. Burial will follow at the Harris Family Cemetery on Peel Chestnut Mountain, WV. Friends and family may call at the Cravens-Shires Funeral Home in Bluewell, WV on Sunday, September 26, 2010 from 12:00 p.m. (noon) until 2:00 p.m. Serving as pallbearers will be Charlie Harris, Michael Harris, Brandon Jones, Jeff Brown, Paul Kelly and Junior Miller. Honorary Pallbearer will be Russell Jones.
