Mary Cecil Cope

CRUMPLER, WV--- Mary Cecil Cope, age 92, of Crumpler, WV went home peacefully home to be with her Lord on Sunday Morning, September 19, 2010 at the home of her daughters in Arlington, VA. Mrs. Cope was born on June 24, 1918 in McDowell County, WV. She was the daughter of the late Charlie and Willie Bailey Cecil. She was a homemaker and an excellent cook, who was very devoted to her family. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William B. Cope; one son, Michael Cope; five sisters, Myrtle Ball, Elizabeth Overton, Dinae Key, Edna Cecil, and Lois Gilbert; one brother Terry Cecil. Survivors include, One son, Colman Cope of Maybeury Two daughters, Brenda Cope and Donna Viert of Arlington, VA Two brothers, Ollie Cecil of Windmill Gap. James Cecil of Lerona. Granddaughters, Michelle Crim of Alexandria, VA and Melissa (Missy) Cope of Arlington, VA Great-grandsons, Jake and Alex Crim of Alexandria, VA. Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 a.m. on Friday, September 24, 2010 at Cravens-Shires Funeral Home Chapel in Bluewell, WV. with Rev. Terry Wyatt officiating. Burial will follow in Roselawn Memorial Gardens, Princeton, WV. Pallbearers will be family and friends. Friends may call 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Thursday, September 23, 2010 at the funeral home.
