Mary Elizabeth Saddler

BLUEFIELD, WV--- Mary Elizabeth Saddler, age 85, of RT 5 Box 373 (Bluewell) Bluefield, WV passed away Thursday, March 11, 2010 at her residence. Born October 16, 1924 at Louisville, KY she was the daughter of the late Harry and Elizabeth Roppe Reisenberg. Mrs. Saddler was a resident of the Bluewell area for 21 years where she was a homemaker. In 1963 she made over 100 band shirts to help raise money to send the Bluefield Band to New York. Mrs. Saddler was a member of the Elizabeth Bowen United Methodist Church, Cora Johnson Circle, Bramwell United Methodist Women , and a Sunday School Teacher. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her Husband, Charles C. Saddler; and one Daughter, Donna Hartwell. Survivors include, One son, Shane Saddler and wife Dawn of Ashburn, VA Five daughters, Elizabeth “Libby” Rose of Ashburn, VA Norma Gillespie and husband Raymond of Bluewell, WV Charlene Carter and husband William of Springville, VA Mary Jane Hurley and husband Mike of Littlesburg Road, Bluefield, WV Martha Goodwin of Dearborn Heights, MI Two brothers, Joe Reisenberg of Louisville, KY Jerome Reisenberg of Louisville, KY One sister, Ruth Wohlford of Jeffersonville, IN Nine Grandchildren and Seven Great-grandchildren Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, March 13, 2010 at Cravens-Shires Funeral Home Chapel in Bluewell, WV with Rev. Chris Arveson and Rev. Michael Hartwell officiating. Burial will follow in Roselawn Memorial Gardens, Princeton, WV. Friends may call Friday, March 12, 2010 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Grandsons, Charlie Gillespie, Timmy Carter, Mikie Hartwell, Mathew Goodwin, Dusty Hurley, Bobby Stephens, and Drake Saddler will serve as Pallbearers.
