Daniel Ward Quizenbeury

Daniel Ward Quizenbeury, Sr., 86, of Route 3, Bluefield, WV, died Wednesday, February 10, 2010 at home. Mr. Quizenbeury was born on November 1, 1923, in Maybeury, WV, the son of the late Franklin P. and Hattie M. Thompson Quizenbeury. Mr. Quizenbeury was the last surviving member of his family having been preceded in death by brothers, James and Hayden, and sisters, Hazel, Virginia, Mary, Myrtle, Opal and Vivian. Mr. Quizenbeury was also preceded in death by his first wife and the mother of his children, Della Warner Quizenbeury. Mr. Quizenbeury is survived by his wife of 19 years, Mary Sue Belton Quizenbeury; daughters, Donna W. & John M. Perry of Princeton, WV; Doris W. and Thomas G. Ward of Covington, VA.; Deborah W. and Don E. Watkins of Bluff City, TN; and sons, Darrell W. and Mary A. Quizenbeury of Princeton, WV; and Daniel W. Jr. and Melissa K. Quizenbeury of Maybeury, WV. Mr. Quizenbeury is also survived by stepchildren Gary Belton of Ft. Pierce, FL; Leslie Kay & Bert Estlow of Jupiter, FL; and Diane and Mike Modlin of Carolina Shores, NC. Mr. Quizenbeury is survived by 11 grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, five step grandchildren and five step great-grandchildren. Mr. Quizenbeury served in the United States Navy in the south Pacific during World War II. Mr. Quizenbeury had been retired for several years having owned and operated Maybeury Plumbing and Heating. Mr. Quizenbeury was a member of the former Maybeury Methodist Church. There will be no visitation and a private memorial service will be held at a later date.
