Eldon O. Munsey

Eldon O. Munsey, age 70, of Rt. 2, Box 138 C, Bluefield, WV, died on Saturday, November 7, 2009 at Lewis Gale Hospital in Salem, Virginia. Born on January 19, 1939, in Bluefield, WV, he was the son of the late Oran Hershel and Juanita Vivian Meadows Munsey. He had lived in Bluefield his entire life and worked for 39 years for Ashland Oil Company until his retirement. He was a member of the First Church of God on Airport Road where he was the Sunday School Superintendant and Church Trustee. His passion in life was serving and singing for the LORD. Survivors: Wife of 52 years: Priscilla Atkins Munsey of the home. Son: Steve Munsey and wife Kathy of Savannah, GA Daughter: Teresa Billings and husband Ray of Wytheville, VA Sister: Claudine Perkins of Bluefield, WV Grandchildren: Tiffany Michael and husband Robert and Matthew Munsey Great-Grandchild: Connor Michael Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, November 10, 2009 at 1:30 PM at the Cravens-Shires Funeral Home in Bluewell. Rev. Dana Hambrick and Rev. James Mooney will officiate. Burial will follow at Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Princeton where Robert Cochrane, Jerry Lester, Wayne Green, Carl Finley, Larry Gilpin, Gary Cochrane and Kevin Roberts will serve as pallbearers. Friends may call on Monday evening from 6-8 PM at the funeral home.
