Frances Elizabeth Goins

Frances Elizabeth Jones Goins, 92, of Roanoke, VA went to be with her lord on Friday, October 30, 2009. Frances was a long time member of the Bramwell Methodist Church, Bramwell, W.Va. She was retired from the Mercer County School system with many years of service at the Bramwell Schools. Mrs. Goins made her home with her daughter Ellen Bailey in Roanoke, Virginia. She is formerly from Freeman, W.Va. Mrs. Goins was preceded in death by her parents Whitlow Reed and Annie Sue Jones; three sisters, Lucille Jones, Ruby Jones, and Margaret Barbour brothers Don Jones and Marvin "Jack" Jones, and also a son-in-law Jerry Dean Bailey and daughter-in -law Fay Brown Goins. Survivors include her sister Mildred "Dink" Lambert and sister-in-law Rose Connor Jones. Daughter Ellen Bailey and sons Rodney (Donita) Goins, Mark "Buck" Goins, Steve (Susan) Goins, and Jack Richard (Raye) Goins. Fifteen grandchildren and twenty great grandchildren ; and special caregivers, the doctors and nurses on floors 8 & 10 south at Roanoke Memorial Hospital for their care and support of our beloved "Granny". A service to celebrate her life will be held Tuesday, November 3rd at 11:00 AM at the Woodlawn Mausoleum in Bluewell, W.Va. The Rev. Ray Amos, First United Methodist Church, Bluefield, Va. will officiate. Visitation will be held at Cravens-Shires Funeral Home, Bluewell, W.Va. on Monday from 6:00PM to 8:00PM. Flowers are welcomed or donations can be made to your church or favorite charity.
