Rev. Fred Lee Dinger, age 86, of Rt. 1, Box 438 (Littlesburg Road) Bluefield, West Virginia died on Sunday, May 2, 2010 at Tazewell Community Hospital. Born on February 16, 1924 in Bluefield, he was a son of the late Elbert and Ellen Hall Dinger. He had lived on Littlesburg his entire life and had retired from the Bluefield Sanitarium with 25 years in the maintenance department. He had later worked at Dinger’s Excavation Company with his son. He had served for many years as a faithful pastor with his last church being the Mowels Chapel on Stoney Ridge. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Kelly J. Dinger; a son, Roger Dinger; a sister, Esther Dinger; and 3 brothers, Arless, Kyle, and Ward Dinger. Survivors: Wife: Frances Junette Stacy Dinger of the home Sons: Bruce Dinger of Bland, Virginia Steve Dinger and wife Katie of Wytheville, Virginia Tommy Dinger and wife Dawn of Bland, Virginia Daughters: Kathy Herron and husband Jim of Sumter, South Carolina Karen Butt and husband Larry of Sumter, South Carolina Brother: Raymond Dinger and wife Sarah of Rt. 1, Bluefield, West Virginia Sisters: Nana Bell Dinger of Princeton, West Virginia Ella “Polly” Proffitt and husband Ira of Rt. 1, Bluefield, West Virginia 16 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great-grandchild Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, May 5, 2010 at 11:00 AM at the Cravens-Shires Funeral Home in Bluewell with Rev. Brian Cochran and Rev. Donald Compton officiating. Burial will follow at Grandview Memory Gardens in Bluefield, Virginia. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers. Friends may call on Tuesday evening from 6-8 PM at the funeral home
