Clara B. Norton, age 94, of Route 5 (Red Oak Ridge), Bluewell, WV, passed away on Sunday, December 20, 2009 at her residence. Born on October 18, 1915 in Limestone, TN, she was a daughter of the late Rev. Vestal and Louie Hammer Broyles. She had been a resident of Bluewell for 40 years and was a member of the Voice of Praise Worship Center in Bluewell. She was a homemaker. She had the special gift of hospitality, and a great love for everyone. She was preceded in death by her husband, John H. Norton; a son, Billy J. Norton; grandson, Jimmy Blizzard; sisters, Charlotte Rudder, Clio Shelton; brothers, Joe Carl Broyles; and an infant sister, Chloe Broyles. Survivors include: Daughter: Faye Blizzard and husband Charles of Bluewell Daughter in law: Etta Noton of Bluewell Grandchildren: Chuck Blizzard and Johnny Norton of Bluewell Amy Badeau and husband AJ of Morgantown Great grandchildren: John Aaron Norton of Bluewell Amanda Wright and husband Matthew of Princeton Sisters: Christine St. John of Limestone, TN Claudine Jackson and husband Harold of Bean Station, TN Brother: Clifford Broyles of Jonesboro, TN Special friends: Kim Norton, Louise Reed, and Lena Lewis Funeral services will be conducted on Wednesday, December 23, 2009 at 2:00 PM at the Cravens-Shires Funeral Home in Bluewell with Rev. Preston Mathena officiating. Entombment will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Park Mausoleum in Bluewell with John Aaron Norton, Matt Wright, Billy Mayhle, Chuck Blizzard, Johnny Norton, and Ernest Day serving as pallbearers. Lonnie Hensley will serve as honorary pallbearer. Friends may call on Wednesday from 12:00 - 2:00 PM at the funeral home.
