Cynthia Jolene "Jo" Matusevich, 75, of 1238 West Cumberland Road, Bluefield, West Virginia, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Monday, December 14, 2009, at Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital in Roanoke, Virginia. She was born December 18, 1933 in Boissevain, Virginia. She retired as a dental assistant from Dr. William L. Baker's office in Bluefield, WV. She attended Calvary Baptist Church in Bluefield, WV. She was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Bessie Thompson; grandson, Justin Keith Matusevich; sister, Pauline Hill; brother, Charlest H. Thompson; and Victor's soulmate companion, Michelle Stone. Left to cherish her memory as a wonderful wife, mother, and grandmother are her husband, Johnny T. Matusevich, Bluefield, WV; daughter, Beverly Thomas and husband Joe of Princeton, WV; son, Johnny T. Matusevich, Jr. and wife, Sandy of Abbs Valley, VA; Victor L. Matusevich, Greensboro, NC; grandchildren: Stephanie Hall and husband, Barry of Princeton, WV, Kristen Thomas-Chitwood and husband, Wallace of Callaway, VA, Stormi Matusevich, Abbs Valley, VA, Johnny and Marty Stone, Greensboro, NC; great-grandson, Blake Hall of Princeton, WV; step-grandchildren: Elisha Cuppet, Falls Mills, VA and Christina Stone and Robert Stone of Greensboro, NC; step-great grandchildren: Brian Cuppett and Savannah Doss, Falls Mills, VA and Arial Stone, Greensboro, NC; sister, Barbara White of Boissevain, VA, a host of nieces, nephews, and in-laws, and a special friend and "Gold Dust Twin", Kate Parrot Bauswell, Abingdon, VA. The funeral service will be at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, December 16, 2009 at the Cravens-Shires Funeral Home in Bluewell, WV with Rev. Jim Milam officiating. Entombment will be at Woodlawn Memorial Park Mausoleum. Pallbearers will be family and friends. Friends may call one hour prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, Jo requested donations be made to St. Jude's Children’s Research Hospital, P. O. Box 50, Memphis, TN 38101-9929.
