Anna Mae Barlow, age 89, of Route 5 (Bluewell), Bluefield, WV, passed away on Wednesday, December 16, 2009 at her home following a short illness.
Born on March 30, 1920 in Kentucky, she was a daughter of the late Dave and Maggie Shrewsbury King. She loved her flowers and animals and would never leave an animal in need of food or water. She thoroughly enjoyed all of the holidays especially seeing the children dressed in costumes for Halloween and all of the lights at Christmas time.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 44 years, Steve Barlow, Jr.; and three brothers, Dave, Jr., Jackie and Cecil King.

Daughters: Barbara Wellman and husband Bobby of Bluewell
Margaret Shinshock and husband Jerry of Washington Courthouse, OH
Elaine Powers and husband Allen of Bluewell
Elizabeth MacDonald and companion Willie Beljan of Bluewell
7 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren
Sister: Loraine Helmandollar and husband Red of Bluefield
Brothers: Randolph King, JL King, and Sam King all of Princeton
A host of nieces, nephews and her beloved pets.
Funeral services will be conducted on Saturday, December 19, 2009 at 2:00 PM at the Cravens-Shires Funeral Home in Bluewell with Rev. Jim Reed officiating. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Park in Bluewell with family members serving as pallbearers.
Friends may call on Saturday from 1:00-2:00 PM at the funeral home.
