Emma Marie Fletcher, of 82, Route 5 Box 278, Bluefield, WV passed away on Thursday, April 23, 2009 at the residence of her great niece, Wilma and James Foster in Reidsville, NC.
Born on March 15, 1927 in KY, she was a daughter of the late David Harrison and Fannie Pearl Matthews Fields. She had been a resident of Bluefield for most of her life and attended the Church of God. She was a homemaker.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert “Bob” Fletcher; two brothers, Howard and Homer Fields; and two sisters, Alma Rakes and Cora May.
Survivors include her four nephews, Reggie B. Rakes of Siler City, NC, Tommy Rakes of Stoneville, NC, David Rakes of Ramseur, NC and Dusty May of Brookville, FL; two nieces, Stella Rakes of Stoneville, NC, and Della Rogers of High Point, NC; and a host of great nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be conducted on Saturday, April 25, 2009 at 2:00 PM at the Cravens-Shires Funeral Home in Bluewell with her nephew, Rev. Reggie B. Rakes officiating. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Park in Bluewell.
Friends may call on Saturday from 12:00 Noon until service time.
