Jeannette D. Doss

Jeanette D. Doss, age 79, of Elkhorn, WV, passed away on Tuesday, November 10, 2009 at a Welch hospital. Born on February 27, 1930 in Bluefield, VA, she was a son of the late John D. Sherman and Leola Devor Peters. She had been a resident of Elkhorn for most of her life and was a member of the Elkhorn United Methodist Church. She was a member of the Sorority at Northfork and the Senior Friends at St. Lukes. She was a retired certified nursing assistant from McDowell Continuous Care. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Warren “Toby” Doss; a brother, David Peters; and two sisters, Annette Chavae and Ellen Davis. Survivors include: Son: Warren Richard “Dickie” Doss and wife Patty of Bluefield Daughter: Cynthia Yvonne Chastain and husband Don of Toccoa, GA 2 grandchildren: Amy and Chris 3 great grandchildren: Ashley, Alisha and Tyler 2 sisters: Linda Sue Creed and husband Ralph of Wayne, WV Sandy Paul of Pineville, LA Funeral services will be conducted on Friday, November 13, 2009 at 11:00 AM at the Cravens-Shires Funeral Home Chapel in Bluewell with Rev. Olen Robertson officiating. Entombment will follow at Resthaven Memorial Park Mausoleum in Princeton where family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
