Ronald Culbertson

Ronald Culbertson, age 66, of Route 2 Box 170 (Green Valley), Bluefield, WV, passed away on Wednesday, December 30, 2009 at his home after a long illness. Born on December 27, 1943 in Freeman, he was a son of the late Charles A. and Lillie A. Short Culbertson. He had been a lifelong resident of Green Valley and was a US Marines veteran. He was a retired groundskeeper for Woodlawn Memorial Park and Monte Vista Park Cemetery. He also formerly worked at National Electric Coil and enjoyed farming. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his twin brother, Donald Culbertson, and a brother, William “Bill” Culbertson. Survivors include: 3 daughters: Crystal Thompson and husband Dona of Green Valley Becky Culbertson of Green Valley Rhonda Culbertson of Glenwood Former wife: Patsy Poole Culbertson of Glenwood 11 grandchildren 1 brother: Perry E. Culbertson of Lindside Funeral services will be conducted on Monday, January 4, 2010 at 1:00PM at the Cravens-Shires Funeral Home in Bluewell with Minister Greg East officiating. Burial will follow at Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Princeton where military honors will be performed by the WV Honor Guard and the Mercer County Veterans Council. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers. Friends may call on Monday from 12:00 – 1:00 PM at the funeral home.
