BLUEFIELD — Margaret F. Farmer, 89, of P.O. Box 702 (Bluemont Drive) Bluefield, W.Va. went to be with the Lord on Saturday, April 11, 2009 at Bland Nursing and Rehab Center in Bastian, Va.
Margaret was born on January 07, 1920 in Scioto County, Ohio to the late Jacob Fox and Eunice Gallagher Fox. She had been a resident of Bluefield, W.Va. for the past 50 years and was a member of the First Presbyterian Church. She was a member of the #3 circle and the foster grandparent program from 1984 until 1990. Was elected to sever for 10 years in the West Virginia Silver Haired Legislature.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, R. Berlin Farmer in 1981.
Left to cherish her memory are two sons, Roger Farmer of Lyler, Tenn. and Rusty Farmer of Victorville, Calif.; three daughters, Anita Coeburn of Bluefield, W.Va., Sharon Farmer of Bluefield, W.Va. and Sandra Moricle of Williamsburg, Va.; a special friend, Imogene Kabai of Bluefield, Va.; and a sister-in-law, Ora Lee Shorter of Bluefield, W.Va. Margaret was the last living member of her family. Also she is survived by nine grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild.
Funeral service will be held on Tuesday, April 14, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. at the Cravens-Shires Funeral Home in Bluewell, W.Va. with the Rev. Paul Looney officiating the service. Burial will follow at Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Princeton, W.Va.
Friends and family may call at the funeral home on Monday, April 13, 2009 from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.
Grandsons and friends will be serving as pallbearers.
