NORTHFORK — Edward Ambrose "Buddy" Paynter Sr., 75, of P.O. Box 224 Northfork, W.Va. went to be with the Lord on Saturday, April 11, 2009 at home with his family by his side.
Mr. Paynter was born on November 10, 1933 in Zanesville, Ohio to the late Charles Earl Paynter and Hannah Mildred McMann Paynter. He had been a resident of Northfork for the last ten years and was a member of the Old Fashioned Full Gospel Church of Northfork, W.Va. Buddy was retired from the United States Postal Department.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Martha Pauline Knuckles Paynter; a son, Edward Ambrose Paynter; two brothers, Richard Augustas Paynter and Raymond Paynter; and two sisters, Virginia Mae Doyle and Ruth Evelyn Sowards.
Left to cherish Mr. Paynter's memory are his sons, Thomas "Bud" Paynter and wife Donna, Edward Ambrose Paynter, Jr. and wife Bonnie of Franklin, W.Va., Randy Jerome Paynter of Northfork, W.Va., Albert Odell Delp and Virginia of Akron, Ohio, Ronald Everett Delp and wife Liz, Donald Delp of Tucson, Ariz., Frank E. Paynter of Zanesville, Ohio; daughters, Joan M. Green and husband Randy of Elkhorn, W.Va., Jean A. Lawrence and husband Patrick of Northfork, W.Va., Martha L. Paynter of Northfork, W.Va. and Phyllis A. Bautista and husband Jose of Bramwell, W.Va.; one brother, Clifford J. Paynter and wife Barbara of Blacklick, Ohio; and one sister, Judy Ann King and husband John of Zanesville, Ohio; and one brother-in-law, John Doyle; 33 grandchildren; a host of great-grandchildren; and a host of great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral service will be held on Tuesday, April 14, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. at the Old Fashioned Full Gospel Church in Northfork, W.Va. with the Rev. Harold and Shirley Simpson officiating the service.
Burial will follow the service at Woodlawn Memorial Park in Bluewell, W.Va.
Friends and family may call at the Old Fashioned Full Gospel Church in Northfork, W.Va. on Monday, April 13, 2009 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
Friends and family will be serving as pallbearers.
