Walter W. Clark, Jr.

BLUEFIELD — Walter W. Clark, Jr., 85, of 1019 Bramwell Road, Bluefield, W.Va., went to be with his Lord on February 08, 2010 at Bluefield Regional Medical Center. He was the son of the late Walter W. and Margaret T. Musick Clark, Sr. and was born October 17, 1924 in Ennis, W.Va. He was a disabled veteran who served his country with the U.S. Navy in World War II from 1943 through 1946. Walter had over 40 years of service with the Norfolk and Western and Norfolk and Southern Railway, and was a conductor for Amtrak from Bluefield to Williamson. He attended the Church of God in Bluefield, W.Va. He was a member of the American Legion Post No. 09, Veterans of Foreign Wars, and the United Transportation Union No. 655. Walter worked hard his entire life and was very dedicated to his family. Walter was preceded in death by, in addition to his parents, brothers, Carl, Claude, Corbin and Earl Clark; and sisters, Lorena Henley, Merle South, Opal Falcamota, and Louise Beckett; and one grandson; and one son-in-law. Survivors include his loving wife of 61 years, Mary Elizabeth Muncy Clark; two loving daughters, Norma (Jeannie) Crisco and husband Randy of Princeton, W.Va., and Wanda (Sue) Taylor of Bluefield, W.Va.; two brothers, Thomas Clark and wife Mary of Goshen, Ind., and Hubert Clark of Abbs Valley, Va.; and one sister, Jeanette Kuffner of Rockin' Chair Residential Care in Lerona, W.Va.; three grandsons, Randy Crisco, Jr., Kevin Taylor and Brian Taylor, all of Bluefield, W.Va.; seven great-grandchildren; and a host of nephews and nieces. Funeral service will held Friday, February 12, 2010 at 1:00 p.m. at the Cravens-Shires Funeral Home Chapel in Bluewell with the Reverend Jeff Beckett and the Reverend Michael Brooks officiating. Graveside services will follow at Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Princeton, W.Va. Pallbearers will be family and friends. Honorary pallbearers will be John Disibbio, Clyde Barr and Whitley Carlson. Visitation will be held Thursday, February 11, 2010 at Cravens-Shires Funeral Home in Bluewell, W.Va. from 6-8 p.m. Online condolences may be sent to www.cravens-shires.com Cravens-Shires Funeral Home is serving the Clark family.
