Nannie Varalli

BRAMWELL — Nannie, 96, passed away at her home in Bramwell on Wednesday, November 11, 2009 with her loving daughters by her side.Born on November 3, 1913 in Thacker Mines, W.Va., she was the daughter of the late Grace and Mike Vinciguerra. Nannie was the oldest living member of St. Elizabeth's Catholic Church in Pocahontas, Va. She was a homemaker and loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and a friend to many.In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Joe Varalli; four brothers, Rudolph, Philip, Albert, and Ralph; and four sisters, Antoniette, Martha, Youla and Mary Katherine.Survivors: Daughters, Nancy Jo Varalli of the home, Rose Varalli Romeo of Roanoke, Va.; grandchildren, Teresa Blevins and husband Chuck of Roanoke, Va., Cecilia Miller and husband Johnny of Roanoke, Va., Joseph Romeo and wife Julie of Signal Mountain, Tenn.; six great-grandchildren, Charles Blevins, Maria Miller, Joseph, Nicholas, Ally and Sophia Romeo; two brothers, Joe Vinciguerra of Bramwell, W.Va., Mike Vinciguerra and wife Shirley of Bluefield, W.Va.; sister, Betty Karl of Spring Lake Heights, N.J.Requiem Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, November 14, 2009 at St. Elizabeth's Catholic Church in Pocahontas, Va. with the Rev. Father Gaudencio Pugat as celebrant. Entombment will follow in Woodlawn Memorial Park Mausoleum in Bluewell. Pallbearers will be Chuck Blevins, Johnny Miller, Joseph Romeo, Charles Blevins, Carman Liuzzo and Michael Liuzzo.The Varalli family will receive friends at the Cravens-Shires Funeral Home in Bluewell on November 13, 2009 from 6-9 p.m. with a Christian Wake Service conducted at 8:00 p.m.Memorial contributions may be made to St. Elizabeth's Parish in Pocahontas, VA.
