Douglas Eugene Brimm

Douglas Eugene Brimm, Sr., age 66, of GlenWood Park Road (PO Box 1815), Bluefield, WV, passed away on Monday, January 18, 2010 after a long battle with cancer, surrounded by his family at home. Born on July 23, 1943 in Pageton, he was a son of the late Henry Nicholas and Dicie Lorrain Brimm. He had been a resident of Glenwood for 15 years and served his country in the US Air Force. He worked in construction most of his life building several homes and businesses in the Bluewell and Brushfork areas. He was a wonderful husband, father and paw-paw. He had a heart of gold and will be sadly missed by all who knew him. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Sylvia Hurt, and an infant niece, Tonya Brimm. Survivors include: Loving wife of 38 years: Pearl Brimm of the home Sons: William Douglas Frost and wife Paullette of Princeton Douglas Eugene Brimm, Jr. and girlfriend Ashley of Glenwood Daughters: Barbara Jean Smith and James of Bluefield, VA Rhonda Michelle Dinger and husband Jerry of Brushfork Brothers: Don Brimm and wife Lil of Vidalia, GA Jack Brimm of NY Sister: Barbara Boyd and husband Richard of NY 16 grandchildren 4 great grandchildren Several inlaws, nieces and nephews 3 children he was grandpa to by heart: Summer, Nicholas, and Cody Sells Loving and caring hospice family including Crystal and Robin. Special lil dog, Trouble, who adored him Funeral services will conducted on Thursday, January 21, 2010 at 1:00 PM at the Cravens-Shires Funeral Home in Bluewell with Rev. Roger Lafferty officiating. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Park in Bluewell with Dale Flanery, Richard Jarvis, Joseph Lambert, Tim Hunt, David E. Scott, Adam Snow and Ronald Brimm serving as pallbearers. Military honors will be performed by the WV Honor Guard and the Mercer County Veteran’s Council. Friends may call on Wednesday from 6-8 PM at the funeral home.
