Shirley Arnis Perkins

MONTCALM,WV---Shirley Arnis Anderson Perkins, age 72 of Box 463 4th Street Montcalm, WV spread her angel wings and flew to Heaven on Thursday, January 21, 2010. She passed away peacefully at her home with her loving family at her side. Born November 25, 1937 in Rock, she was the daughter of the late Lacy and Ruth Thorne Anderson. She was a graduate of Valley Business College and most recently employed by the late Dr. Joseph P. Nieto. Other employment included Maidenform for 35 years, Belk’s Department Store, and Bluefield Regional Medical Center. Mrs. Perkins was a resident of Montcalm for the past 55 years. She was a member of the Church of Christ in Montcalm. She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother who devoted her life to her family. She had a passion for flowers and gardening, planting seeds of love and kindness to all of her friends and family. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by one brother-in-law, Elbert Hudgins. Left to cherish her memory include: Husband of 54 years, Paul F. Perkins, Sr. of Montcalm, WV One son: Paul F. Perkins, Jr. and partner William Merva of Bluefield, WV Three daughters: Linda Poe and husband Charles of Athens, WV Teresa Jenkins and husband Allen of Morristown, TN Karen Duncan and husband Bobby of Sandlick, WV Two brothers, Billy Anderson of Montcalm, WV Ralph Anderson and wife Eleanor of Colonial Beach, VA Two sisters, Priscilla Hudgins of Pineville, WV Geraldine Anderson and husband Kermit of Baltimore, MD She was blessed with 5 Grandchildren: Noel Jenkins, Charles N. Poe, Jr., Stephanie Duncan, Jason Duncan, and Aaron Jenkins. She was also blessed with 5 Great-grandchildren: Isaiah, Jayden Caleb, and Taylor Jenkins and Brynne Nicole Poe. Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. Monday, January 25, 2010 at Cravens-Shires Funeral Home Chapel in Bluewell, WV with Pastor Eddie Via and Pastor David Robinson officiating. Burial will follow in Roselawn Memorial Gardens, Princeton, WV. Pallbearers will be Charles N. Poe, Jr., Jason Duncan, Aaron Jenkins, Noel Jenkins, Dale Anderson, and Bill Duncan. Honorary pallbearers will be Mike Pickett and William Merva. Friends may call Sunday, January24, 2010 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. The family asked that those who knew her and loved her, plant a special flower in her memory so that she can shower it with her love from Heaven.
