Jordan Lafferty

Jordan “Chief” Lafferty, age 96, of P.O. Box 3124 Bluefield, WV (Route 20, Bluewell) died on Friday, July 9, 2010 at Princeton Community Hospital. Born on July 2, 1914 in Wyoming County, he was a son of the late Charles Thomas and Ada Bailey Lafferty. He was a graduate of Herndon High School and was the retired owner and operator of the Welch Radio Company in Welch. He was a veteran of WWII having served in the US Navy. He had been living in Bluewell for the past 20 years and was of the Protestant Faith. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers, Joe, Andrew, Ray, Lacy and Rev. John M. Lafferty; and sisters, Nancy McKinney and Rebecca Eubank. Survivors: Sister: Ester Belcher of Detroit, Michigan Several Nieces and Nephews A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, July 14, 2010 at 2:00 PM at the Bailey Cemetery at Beartown in Wyoming County. His family members will officiate and serve as his pallbearers. Friends may call on Wednesday afternoon from 12:00 – 1:00 PM at at the Cravens-Shires Funeral Home in Bluewell.
