CHARLESTON (AP) — Johnny H. Brady, age 88, of Bluewell, W.Va., formerly of Collinsville, Va., died on Friday, October 22, 2010 at his home.
Born on October 11, 1922 in McComas, W.Va., he was a son of the late Mike and Elizabeth Pushie Brady. He had lived in Bluewell for the past year. He had previously lived in Collinsville, Va. where he had worked as a finisher for the Bassett Table Factory. He retired after 28 years of service. He attended the Bassett Pentecostal Holiness Church in Bassett, Va. He was a veteran of World War II having served as a Corporal in the U.S. Army Air Corps. He fought in the Pacific Theater and was instrumental in the Philippine Liberation. He was awarded six bronze service stars. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by an infant son, Roger Dale Brady; brothers, Joe, Billy, and Mike Brady; and sisters, Mary Brady Perkins, Julie Brady Martin, and Liz Brady.
Survivors: Wife of 62 years, Adena Stevens Brady of the home; brother, Otto Brady of Texas; many nieces and nephews; special nephew, Keith Ragan of Franklin County, Va.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, October 25, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. at the Cravens-Shires Funeral Home in Bluewell with Dr. Eddie Johnson and the Reverend Larry Roberts officiating. Burial will follow at Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Princeton, W.Va. Military graveside honors will be performed by the West Virginia Honor Guard. His family and friends will be serving as his pallbearers.
