Janet Marie Reed

Janet Marie Gillespie Reed, age 59, of Route 1 Box 105, Matoaka, WV, passed away on Friday, August 27, 2010 at a Princeton hospital. Born on August 1, 1951 in Bluefield, she was a daughter of Evelyn Walker Gillespie of NC and the late Stanley D. Gillespie. She had been a lifelong resident of Matoaka and formerly worked at Hampton Inn in the housekeeping department. She was a graduate of Matoaka High School and loved to sew, crochet, and work jigsaw puzzles. She will be missed by her family and will be missed. In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by 2 granddaughters, Brianna and Jasmine; sister, Connie Sue Gillespie Rogers; and infant brother, Robert Wayne Gillespie and her grandparents. Survivors in addition to her mother include: Husband: Stewart Franklin Reed of the home 4 sons: Kenneth Bowden and wife Michelle Joey Reed and wife Robin Tommy Bowden and companion Kalla Michael Bowden and companion Janice Grandchildren: Chase, Nathan, Brittany, Ruby, Joanna and Joanna Elizabeth Great grandchildren: Katie Lynn and Dustin 3 sisters: Mrs. William (Gail) Fowler Tammy Gillespie Rita Turner 5 brothers: Homer Gillespie Richard Gillespie and wife Leona Lloyd Gillespie and Sandy Lawrence Gillespie and Marilynn Brian Gillespie Funeral services will be conducted on Tuesday, August 31, 2010 at 11:00 AM at the Cravens-Shires Funeral Home Chapel in Bluewell with Rev. William Fowler officiating. Burial will follow at the Crotty Cemetery in Pinoak where family and friends will serve as pallbearers. Friends may call on Monday from 6-8 PM at the funeral home.
