Ona Claudine Hensley Jackson, age 80, of Bean Station, TN; formerly of Edgewater, FL and Skygusty, WV, passed away on September 26, 2010 at Morristown Hamblen Hospital in Morristown.
Born on May 14, 1930 in Limestone, TN, she was a daughter of the late Rev. Vestal and Mrs. Louisa Hammer Broyles. Claudine was a devoted Christian throughout her life. She was a member of The Church of God in Bean Station, TN; The Upper Room Chapel in Oak Hill, FL; and the Church of Jesus Christ in Skygusty. She served as a pianist for each church and participated in the Women’s Ministry. She reached out to many with her spiritual gift of music. In addition to being a devoted Christian, she was also a homemaker, seamstress, and a clerk at GC Murphy’s Department Store in Welch until she retired and relocated to Florida.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Kenneth Hensley; first husband, Wayne J. Hensley; brother, Joe Carl Broyles; and sisters, Mrs. Clio Shelton, Mrs. Charlotte Rudder and Mrs. Clara Norton.

Funeral services will be conducted on Friday, October 1, 2010 at 1:30PM at the Cravens-Shires Funeral Home Chapel in Bluewell with Minister Sadie Brently and Pastors Roney and Kathryn Marrs officiating. Entombment will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Park Mausoleum in Bluewell with grandsons and great grandsons officiating.
Friends may call on Thursday from 6-8 PM at the funeral home.
