Kenneth Raymond Gilbert

Kenneth Raymond Gilbert, 55, of Wrights Valley Road Bluefield, VA went to be with his LORD and savior on Friday, November 19, 2010 after a battle with cancer. He was born on January 28, 1955 in Bluefield, WV to the late Thomas and Lois B. Cecil Gilbert. He was a graduate of Montcalm High School and worked for N&S railroad for the last 20 years. Kenneth was a member of the East River Church in Bluefield, VA. Kenneth was a wonderful father and provider; he loved kids and was an active supporter of TASK (Taking Action for Special Kids) and St. Jude’s Children Research Hospital. Kenneth was a blessing to many people in his life. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by one bother Roger Gilbert Survivors Include: His wife of 32 years Teresa (Murray) Gilbert of the home Six Children: Melissa (Gilbert) Roland and husband Daniel of Bluefield, VA Jennifer (Gilbert) Clower of Bluefield, VA Trey, Kenneth Dillion, Travis and Issac Gilbert all of the home Adopted Daughter: Lori Beth Clendenin of Bluefield, WV Three Grandchildren: Noah and Catelyn Roland of Bluefield, VA Austin Shields of Bluefield, VA Brother: Thomas Gilbert and wife Connie of Windmill Gap Montcalm, WV Uncles: Ollie Cecil and James Cecil Many other nieces and nephews Friends and family may call at the Cravens-Shires Funeral Home in Bluewell, WV on Monday, November 22, 2010 from 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. Funeral service will be held on Tuesday, November 23, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. at the Cravens-Shires Funeral Home in Bluewell, WV with the Reverend Tim Boyd officiating the service. Entombment will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Park Mausoleum in Bluewell, WV where his brothers on the railroad will be serving as pallbearers Mick Gregory, Kevin McGraw, Mike McKinney, Allen Tibbs, Allen Neal and Keith Mitchell.
