James David Quesenberry

August 22, 1941 — July 6, 2009

James David Quesenberry, age 67, of 192 Post Street, Falls Mills, VA, passed away on Monday, July 6, 2009 in Sevierville, TN while on vacation. Born on August 22, 1941 in McComas, WV, he was the son of the late James Knox Quesenberry and Lizzie York Quesenberry. He had been a resident of Falls Mills for 40 years and was a retired coal miner. He had also retired from Chemical Lime in Ripplemead, VA. Dave was a loving husband, father and Papa. All of his life, he built his life around his family and friends. He was a member of First United Methodist Church and a member of the Woolwine Sunday School Class. Dave loved to hunt and trout fish, and he loved fishing with his buddies. We will surely miss him so very much. Rest in peace Papa Dave in that “Coal Mine in the Sky”. He was preceded in death by four brothers Everett Quesenberry, Robert Quesenberry, Charles Quesenberry and Howard Quesenberry and three sisters, Ruby Niswander, Stella Hall and Edna Shinault. He is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 47 years Carolyn Whitley Quesenberry. He is also survived by his son, Dwayne (Pamela) Quesenberry of Dublin, and one daughter, Cathy Sarver of Wytheville. Six grandchildren: Michelle Brubaker, Robert E. Lee IV, Mikey Sarver, Joey Sarver, Zachary Quesenberry, and Zane Quesenberry. Four great grandchildren: Kelli Brubaker, Robert E. Lee V, Levi Lee, and Camden Lee. He is survived by one Brother: Ronald (Hallie) Quesenberry of Elyria, OH, and a host of nieces and nephews. Funeral Services will be held at the Cravens-Shires Funeral Home Chapel on Thursday, July 9, 2009 at 11:00 AM with Rev. Ray Amos and Nephew, Pastor Rodney Quesenberry officiating .Burial to follow at the Grandview Memory Gardens, on Bluefield Tazewell Road where Randy Ernest, Robert E Lee IV, Zane Quesenberry Stuart Shinault , Zachary Quesenberry and Joey Sarver will serve as pallbearers. Honorable Pallbearer is Mikey Sarver. Visitation will be on Wednesday, July 8, 2009 between 6:00 and 8:00 p.m. at Cravens-Shires Funeral Chapel in Bluewell, WV. In Lieu of Flowers the family has requested that Memorial Contributions be made to the First United Methodist Church, 200 S College Ave, Bluefield, VA 24605.
