Darrell Eugene Watkins

Darrell Eugene Watkins, age 56, of 11456 Mt. Rose Drive, King George, VA, and formerly of Montcalm, passed away on Tuesday, May 12, 2009 at his residence. Born on October 30, 1952 in Bluefield, he was a son of Flossie Jennings Watkins and the late Bobby Watkins. He had a career of over 20 years as a tunnel supervisor. He was a devoted husband. He was a devoted husband, father, son, brother, grandfather and friend. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by one brother, Johnny Watkins. Left to cherish his memory is his wife, Bonita Watkins of the home; three children, Angel and Jeff of VA, April and Paul of VA, and Bobby of VA; 4 grandsons, and two granddaughters. Funeral services will be conducted on Saturday, May 16, 2009 at 11:00 AM at the Cravens-Shires Funeral Home Chapel in Bluewell with Rev. George Johnston and Rev. Larry White officiating. Burial will follow at the Jennings Family Cemetery in Matoaka where Paul Cline, Bernie Powers, Marvin Davis, Gary Perry, Jackie Jennings, and Jackie Spaulding will serve as pallbearers. Friends may call on Friday evening from 6-8 PM at the funeral home.
