Allen “Barney” Dale, age 57, of Route 1 Box 394-B (Sandlick Road), Bluefield, WV, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, May 23, 2009 at a Princeton hospital.
Born on January 21, 1952 in Welch, he was a son of Mila Bishop Dale of McDowell, WV and the late Roy Dale. He had been a resident of Route 1 Bluefield for 29 years and was a member of the Burke Baptist Church in Keystone where he served as a deacon. He was a graduate of Northfork High School and was a retired dryer technician for Keystone Service Industries in Keystone. He was a member of the UMWA. Barney was an avid hunter and loved to ride his motorcycle.
Survivors in addition to his mother include his devoted wife of 34 years, Peggy Sheets Dale of the home; loving daughters, Angela Dale and husband Steven O’Donnell of Bluefield, and Ashley Dale of Sandlick Road, Bluefield; brothers, Chris Dale and wife Sue of Winston-Salem, NC, and Larry Dale and wife Virginia of Lewiston, ID; and sister, Judy Becknell of Winston-Salem, NC; nieces, Stella and Melissa Dale of Lewiston, ID; and nephew Larry R. Dale of Lewiston, ID.
Funeral services will be conducted on Thursday, May 28, 2009 at 1:00 PM at the Cravens-Shires Funeral Home Church in Bluewell with Rev. Darrell Church and Rev. Danny Pruitt officiating.
Friends may call on Wednesday from 6-8 PM at the funeral home.
