Marie Kade

Marie Hicks Kade, age 89, of Route 3 Box 425 (Lorton Lick Road), Bluefield, WV, went to be with her Lord on Friday evening, May 29, 2009 at Princeton Community Hospital with family by her side. Born on June 20, 1919 in Crystal, she was a daughter of the late Allen and Minnie Bryant Hicks. She had been a resident of Lorton Lick Road for most of her life and was a member of the Montcalm Pentecostal Holiness Church in Montcalm. She was a homemaker. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by husband John Kade 14 months ago; a brother, Thurman Hicks; and two sisters, Helen Hicks and Regina Watkins. Survivors include her son, Douglas Kade and wife Helen of Princeton; two daughters, Geraldine Callis and husband George of Newport News, VA and Sandra Belcher and husband Melvin of Bluefield; five grandchildren, Jacque Pollock and husband Jeff of MI, Michael Kade of Las Vegas, NV, Pam Callis of Newport News, VA, Greg Callis and wife Angelia of Newport News, VA, Brian Lusk and wife Kelly of Virginia Beach, VA; three great grandchildren, Ryan Lusk of Virginia Beach, VA, Chelsey and Ryan Kade of Las Vegas, NV; a sister, Margaret Hodges of Princeton; and a host of nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted on Tuesday, June 2, 2009 at 11:00 AM at the Cravens-Shires Funeral Home Chapel in Bluewell with Rev. Allen Hawley, Rev. R.C. Turner, and Rev. Andrew Byrd officiating. Entombment will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Park Mausoleum in Bluewell where family and friends will serve as pallbearers. Friends may call on Monday from 6-8 PM at the funeral home.
