Theodore F. Baker, age 77, of 816 Melrose Street, Bluefield, WV, passed away after a long battle of Leukemia on Friday, October 16, 2009 at home. Born on April 1, 1932 in Rocky Gap, VA, he was a son of the late Robert and Virginia Wiley Baker. He had been a resident of Bluefield for 34 years and was a retired meat cutter supervisor for the area Acme grocery stores. He was a active member and a deacon at Edgemont Baptist Church in Bluefield. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Barbara Hunt Baker; and 3 brothers, Garland, Roy, and Elmer Baker. Survivors include: Son: Mark Baker and wife Kim of Bluefield Daughter: Lynn Odham and husband Stanley of Hurricane 3 grandchildren: Mark Spencer Baker of Monroe, NC Hayley Baker of Monroe, NC Hunter Odham of Hurricane Brother: Bobby Baker and wife Nancy of Bluefield 1 sister: Shirley Pauley and husband John R. of Bastian, VA Several nieces and nephews Funeral services will be conducted on Saturday, October 17, 2009 at 3:00 PM at the Cravens-Shires Funeral Home Chapel in Bluewell with Rev. Ken Owens officiating. Burial will follow at Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Princeton. Friends and family will serve as pallbearers. Memorial contributions may be made to The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, 1311 Mamaroneck Avenue, White Plains, NY 10605. Friends may call on Saturday prior to services, from 2:00 -3:00, at the funeral home.
