Lacy Jennings Robertson, age 83, of Route 5 Box 142-B, Bluefield, WV went to be with his Lord and Savior on Saturday, March 28, 2009 at the Doctor’s Hospital in Sarasota, FL.
Lacy was born September 14, 1925 in Ada, WV, and was the son of the late Edward Kyle Robertson and Lula Shelton. He was married to his wife, Exie Marie Hutchison of Bluefield, W.VA., on July 4, 1950. He was retired from the Smith Transfer Corporation as a Semi Driver. He played guitar and loved writing and singing Gospel music and attended the Brushfork First Church of God in Bluefield, W.VA. He served in the U.S. Navy from 1943 – 1946.
In addition to his wife, survivors include: His living children are twins, Duane Robertson and Diane Funk of Sarasota, FL., and two grandchildren, Zane Funk and Liam Robertson of Sarasota, Florida. His brothers and sisters are Emmitt Robertson of Bland, VA., Frank Robertson of Bluefield, WV., Ruby Pilkins of Crete, Ill., Bernice Hale of Bluefield, WV., and Rita Fowler of White Springs, FL.
Friends may call on Saturday from 6-8 PM at Cravens-Shires Funeral Home in Bluewell.
Funeral services will be conducted on Sunday, April 5, 2009 at 2:00 PM at the First Church of God, Brushfork-Falls Mills Road with Rev. Jimmie Russ officiating.
Graveside services will follow on Monday at 11:00 AM at Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Princeton. Those wishing to attend should meet at Cravens-Shires Funeral Home in Bluewell by 10:30AM.
