Darkis Ann Poe

Darkis Ann Poe, 69, of Bluefield, West Virginia passed away on Saturday, October 10, 2009 at Bluefield Regional Medical Center in Bluefield, West Virginia. Darkis was born on June 27, 1940 in Goodwill, West Virginia to the late Ficer Taylor and Treecie Settle Taylor. She was the previous owner of Hair Styles by Darkis and was later employed by Wal-Mart in Bluefield, Virginia. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by Three brothers; Mark (Duke) Taylor, Willie Taylor and Carson Taylor and One sister; Blanch Taylor Survivors Include: Daughters: Karen Bailey and husband Reverend Donnie of Saltville, Virginia Carla Handy and husband Michael of Princeton, West Virginia Sisters:Zelma Blevins and husband Johnny of Lindside, West Virginia Dorothy Presnell of Bluewell, West Virginia Sister in Law:Judy Taylor of Bluewell, West Virginia Grandchildren:Luke Bailey and wife Molinda,Jessi Adkisson and Husband Logan,Brittany Handy Great Grandchildren: Tyler Bailey, Taylor Bailey, Colton Bailey, Haily Adkinson And a host of nieces and nephews Funeral services will be held on Tuesday evening, October 13, 2009 at 7:30 p.m. with the Rev. Donnie Bailey officiating the service. Burial will take place at the Belcher Cemetery in Coaldale, West Virginia on Wednesday, October 14, 2009. Friends and family may call at the Cravens-Shires Funeral Home in Bluewell, West Virginia on Tuesday, October 13, 2009 from 5:30 p.m. until the time of the service at 7:30 p.m. A committal service will be held on Wednesday, October 14, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. Those wishing to attend the service are requested to meet at the Cravens-Shires Funeral Home in Bluewell, West Virginia on Wednesday by 10:30 a.m.
