Roger Lee O'Donell

Roger Lee O’Donell, age 68, of 6037 Rock River Road, Rock, WV, passed away on Monday, September 28, 2009 at Bluefield Regional Medical Center surrounded by his family. Born on October 18, 1940 at Montcalm, he was a son of Goldie Wagner O’Donell of Rock and the late G. Wesley O’Donell. He had been a resident of Rock for all of his life and was a faithful member of the Rock United Methodist Church. He formerly worked for Bluefield Coca-Cola Bottling Company in Bluefield for several years and Sealy Mattress Company. He was disabled at the time of his death. He was a member of the Bailey Masonic Lodge #137 AF&AM where he was master of the lodge. Survivors include: Mother: Goldie Wagner O’Donell, with whom he made his home One brother: Larry O’Donell and wife Linda of Rock One Sister: Mary Ellen Syres and husband Johnny of Rock Nephews: Brian Syres and girlfriend Sheri Boothe of Rock Anthony Syres and wife Stacey of Bluefield Larry O’Donell, Jr. of Rock Nieces: Pam Rutherford and husband Paul of Bluefield, VA Leslie McPherson and husband Danny of Galax, VA Funeral services will be conducted on Thursday, October 1, 2009 at 11:00 AM at the Cravens-Shires Funeral Home Chapel in Bluewell with Rev. David White and Rev. David Damewood officiating. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Park in Bluewell. The Bailey Masonic Lodge #137 will conduct graveside rites and will serve as pallbearers. Friends may call on Wednesday from 6-8 PM at the funeral home.
