Michael Shannon Seay

STANLEY, N.C. — Michael Shannon Seay, 56, of Stanley, N.C., and formerly of Maybeury, W.Va., went to be with the Lord Tuesday morning, September 22, 2009 at Huntersville Presbyterian Hospital, Huntersville, N.C. Born September 17, 1953 in Bluefield, he was the son of the late Aubrey and Wanda Burnopp Seay. He attended Northfork High School, was a graduate of Gaston College Class of 2007, carpenter, welder, loving husband and father, and a friend to all. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his maternal and paternal grandparents; brother, Andy Seay; sister, Brenda Sue Scott. Survivors include his loving wife of 25 years, Susan Kemp Seay of the home; sons, Jonathan Seay and wife Selena of Ramsell, N.C., Steven Belcher and wife Kamie of Rathdrum, Idaho; daughters, Shannon Seay-Hassousnch and husband Abdallah of Charleston, S.C., Stephanie Hester and husband Randy of Kings Mt., N.C.; grandkids, Tyler and Michael Seay of Ramsell, N.C., Jasmine Hassousnch of Charleston, S.C., Dylan and Owen Belcher of Rathdrum, Idaho, Corey and Emily Hester of Kings Mt. N.C.; sisters, Martha Robertson and husband Tommy of Princeton, and Sharon Jarvis and husband Jimmy of Maybeury; brothers, Danny Seay, wife Becky and son Daniel of Locust Grove, Ga., John Seay, wife Stephanie and daughter Brittany of Mt. Holly, N.C., Edward Seay, wife Rose Maria and two sons Pepro and James of Bramwell, W.Va., Joseph Seay, wife Pam and children Kayla and Kilie of Stanley, N.C.; several nieces and nephews and a host of friends. Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m., Saturday September 26, 2009 at Cravens-Shires Funeral Home in Bluewell with the Rev. Ronald Miller officiating. Burial will follow at the Roselawn Memorial Gardens, Princeton with friends and family serving as pallbearers. Friends may call at Cravens-Shires Funeral Homes Friday, September 25th from 6-9 p.m. and one hour prior to services Saturday.
